Our community is facing a unique challenge.
Scandal and ineffective leadership have forced a special election for our San
Jose City Council District.
Bob Dhillon is running as a write-in candidate to bring experience and
leadership back to our community.
Bob Dhillon is a San Jose City Planning Commissioner (currently the Vice Chair),
community activist, and successful business owner.
Bob Dhillon has the leadership and experience to get things done.
Bob Dhillon understands how local government works.
He has worked directly with every major department in our city, including our
police department, planning department, and parks and recreation department.
He works regularly with department heads and every member of the Planning
Commission and City Council.
He understands not only how San Jose city government works but who makes it
work.
-
We must restore trust in our local elected officials.
Bob will work closely with our neighborhoods to rebuild trust by listening to
community concerns and by being accessible and developing community consensus
on major projects.
Bob plans to spend one day a week in one of the community centers in our
neighborhoods on a rotational basis to listen and discuss community concerns.
-
We need leadership that will insist on an expanded police presence in our
community.
Bob has been advocating for a police sub-station in our community for several
years.
Bob will make juvenile violent crime prevention his top priority and will
advocate for increased interaction between the police and our neighborhoods
and for adequate funding for the San Jose B.E.S.T. (Bringing Everyone's
Strengths Together) Program providers.
Bob will make sure that we move beyond the focus of gang prevention,
suppression, and intervention and will see to it that we include the
improvement of life skills, school and community safety, and educational
achievement.
-
We must make sure development meets community needs.
Bob will use his experience as a high-level appointed official, a respected
business leader, and a long-time community activist to make sure that new
housing and commercial properties adequately address neighborhood concerns.
Here's why you should take 10 seconds
to write in Bob Dhillon.
